What should I wear to my appointment?
This is the appointment you've been waiting for! Having your hair and makeup done helps you truly feel like a bride when trying on gowns and can make it easier to envision your wedding day look. A platform is provided to stand on so shoes are not necessary, though you are welcome to bring a pair if you'd like. We recommend wearing neutral coloured undergarments.
Why do you charge for appointments?
You'll receive a personalised 1.5 hour appointment with a dedicated stylist focused solely on you. The $30 will be credited towards your gown on the day of your appointment. Bridal gown shopping is the experience you have been waiting for. Your stylist will connect with you before your appointment to learn about your wedding. This helps them prepare gowns and silhouettes that best suit your style.
Are alterations included?
Alterations are not included. After saying yes to the dress, your stylist will take your measurements and order the recommended size based on the designer's size chart. You will need to source a seamstress for your alterations.
Why do you have a guest limit on appointments?
We pride ourselves on providing an intimate shopping experience. Larger groups often bring more opinions, which can make choosing a gown overwhelming. If you’d like to bring more than 4 guests, please contact us to see if we can accommodate your request.
Can I take pictures at my appointment?
YES! We encourage pictures and videos, seeing yourself in pictures can be incredibly helpful. We love when you share your experience at 88 and Ivory with us.
Is tipping required or expected for my stylist?
Tipping is not required or expected but very much appreciated. The stylists are not commission based and the service is 100% genuine.
Can I wear a self-tan?
We kindly ask you to avoid wearing self-tan to your appointment as it can easily transfer onto the gowns. This helps to keep our gowns in excellent condition.
